1930-1970: from Lapland to Brazil and the French countryside
50 hours- Gaumont collection

This collection of 150 documentaries – all filmed between the 1930s and the 1970s – provides a particularly rich legacy of many varied groups of people from this period: the tribes of Africa, Lapland and Guyana, the cannibals of Kanak, dancers at the Rio carnival, and fur traders in Spitzberg. The series also features nostalgic images of France's countryside in the 1950s as it marched toward modernity; wildlife films, both educational and fictional; and reports on sports (mountaineering in 1936), the circus (a European tour in 1953) and world-famous singing stars.
